I have always wanted to go glamping, and now I can finally tick that off my bucket list, tick! Elliott and I went on a glamping trip to North Wales, Conwy, at the end of March this year, and it was Amazing the most relaxing holiday I’ve had in a very long time.

From the moment we arrived at the pod, we were impressed it was absolutely adorable! So cute and pretty, I loved the layout and how it gave a private setup. You entered through a little wooden gate to a private pod, hot tub, and campfire area with a small green space. When entering the pod, we saw dressing gowns, towels, and slippers displayed on the bed, plus a little treat box filled with lovely local food and drinks. We also loved all the little extras, including a  window in the roof so we could lay in bed and look up at the stars, heated flooring to keep our feet warm, and a bottle of local milk in the fridge.

I really struggled to find any negatives. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, and the setup was private and homey. The only area for improvement I could think of is that Elliott and I spent most evenings outside, and when it got dark, I felt there wasn’t quite enough lighting. I’d maybe suggest adding a bit more lighting in the very dark areas outside. Overall, it was a lovely short break for me and Elliott to unwind and relax together.

I spent moments throughout the day looking out over the fields and even got to say hello to the cows and sheep. Our hosts were so lovely they even let us walk around their fields with the sheep and cows. Naturally, the sheep ran away, but the cows, being curious, wanted to say hello and befriended me. I even named one of them Dorothy because she became my bestie, and I’ve always loved the name Dorothy for a cow, hehe.

On our first full day in Conwy, we explored Conwy Castle it was great until we got to the very top and my fear of heights really kicked in! However, the view from the top was incredible, and I didn’t let go of Elliott until we were back on the ground, haha. After conquering the castle walls, we took a relaxing stroll around the town, browsed a few shops, and enjoyed some ice cream while walking on the beach. After our morning of exploring, we headed back and spent a relaxing afternoon eating lunch, listening to nature, and hot-tubbing until dinner.

One of the best parts of the glamping experience was eating dinner by the campfire. We listened to the owls talking and met the owners’ cat, who we named Cheese  (because we didn’t know her name at the time but fed her cheese naturally, we named her after food). Later, we found out her name was Nancy.

On Day 2, we ventured about 10 minutes outside of Conwy to visit Bodnant Garden, which was a breathtaking nature reserve that seemed to go on forever. It was amazing! I vlogged the whole experience make sure you check it out on my Instagram. As we got down to one part of the reserve, Elliott smelled something delicious: pasties one of our favourite foods! They were heavenly. I never thought of pasties as a walking snack, but it’s my new favourite who would have thought?

Bodnant Garden has to be one of the best nature reserves we’ve visited yet. It was fantastic from the secret paths and wooden bridges to old buildings, giant water fountains, and flower fields everywhere not to mention the gorgeous manor house and greenhouse attached to it. We walked over 6,000 steps, and it didn’t even feel like it because we were too busy taking it all in. I also thought it was cute that there was a small garden centre attached. There wasn’t much there, but it was unique and made for another nice little stroll.

We unplugged from the world, and Elliott especially felt he really benefited from this. He’s always on technology phone, laptop, TV he’s a tech guy. But he really unplugged while we were away and barely felt the urge to go on anything tech-related. He just chilled out. We cooked dinner together every night, which is one of our favourite things to do as a couple, and we talked, laughed, and enjoyed each other’s company. Being long-distance for almost four years now has made us really appreciate the time we do have together.

I come from a big family, and we both have very busy lifestyles. As many of my readers already know, Elliott and I are long-distance, so having the opportunity to take some time away together is so important. It’s a great way to mature and grow as a couple. I’ve always had an idea of the kind of future I’d like, and this glamping experience confirmed for both of us that we’d love a home with land where we can have campouts, breathe in nature, and look up at the stars away from the noise of cities and busy roads. This is a great place for couples to unwind, reconnect, and relax.

On our final morning, after we packed up the car and left, we stopped in town one last time to experience a seed festival; A little spring fair where local traders showcased their work, from local delicious honey and fudge to beautiful plants, handmade gifts, decor, and artwork. It was lovely, and we really enjoyed being part of it.

This was such a fun, relaxing getaway, and we really enjoyed the glamping experience. In fact, we loved it so much that we’ve already booked our next glamping trip for March 2026!
