Fun and Fresh: 18 Spring Activities to Make the Most of the Season

SPRING HAS ARRIVED! After months of hibernating, drinking hot drinks, and being wrapped in blankets, we can open the doors to fresh air, warm sunshine, flowers blooming, and have days being in nature, creating humble memories, and more.

If you wanna make the most of spring 2024, I have come up with a list of fun spring and Easter-themed activities you can do. I will also be doing as many of them as I can, and I can’t wait; I’m so excited.

  1. Spring cleaning: I start my spring cleaning in January because I love to start the year off by decluttering and organising. Spring is all about fresh, new beginnings, and a great way to start that off is with a fresh, clean inviting home.

  2. Read a book: This is for all my book dragons, bookworms, and bookgrammers. Grab your favourite or a new book that screams spring vibes, flowers, sunshine, and get reading. Have that spring book aesthetic you have been waiting all year for, at the beach, at a café that’s also a bookshop and flower store; embrace your book dream this spring.

  3. Go fruit picking: I've never done fruit picking, but this year I am hoping to finally go check it out for myself. This is a great idea for a cute day date, a way to get the kids out in the fresh air soaking up that vitamin D, or even for some relaxing slow living vibes by yourself.

  4. Make Fresh Lemonade: A glass of sweet and sour liquid mixed into one is my spring drink; it's like sunshine in a glass. What’s your spring drink?

  5. Go for a bike ride: This is another perfect activity to do with friends, family, or even solo. The UK weather is very unpredictable, so when you get the chance to get active and enjoy the sunshine at the same time, you should go for it.

  6. Nature walk: Flowers blooming with vibrant colours everywhere, listening to birds chirping, and breathing in that fresh air whilst feeling the warm sun on your skin; take a little relaxing nature stroll.

  7. Go Bird Watching: I love nature, so beautiful, and spring is all about nature time. This is the perfect spring activity for any nature lovers, and it's also another great way to get the kids out in the fresh air soaking up that vitamin D and can be very educational too.

  8. Bake Bread: I have never in my life made bread from scratch, and I’m always seeing all the people doing videos of them making bread. It looks so easy, and I really wanna give it a try. Besides, who doesn’t love the smell of fresh bread?

  9. Go on a picnic or Brunch: I'm a foodie, and in spring and summertime, I love brunching and picnics. When you live in the countryside, why wouldn’t you wanna eat with a beautiful view?

  10. Make Jam: I really wanna try and make a lot of things from scratch this year, and homemade jam always looks so good! And if I'm making bread, I gotta have some jam to spread on it.

  11. Wear cute dresses: I am the girl that lives in track bottoms, baggy jumpers, and fluffy socks most of the year, so the moment the sun comes out, you best believe I will be wearing pretty floral dresses, giving them spring vibes.

  12. Build a birdhouse: Lots of baby birds will be born, and I think it's so important to care for nature. This could also be a lovely brunching activity with the girls or a creative fun activity to do with the kids and can be a perfect way of doing your bird watching.

  13. Gardening: I'm not the best gardener, but my mum loves being out in the garden during spring and summer. Spring is the perfect time to spruce up your garden before all the BBQs, pool parties, and family gatherings in the garden in the summer.

  14. Buy flowers: This one is simple; it's spring, so flowers should be bought.

  15. Go camping or glamping: Now I’m not a camping kinda girl, but when the warm weather is out, we should take advantage of it, enjoying all spring offers and creating memories. If you want to holiday or have a budget, this could be it.

  16. Decorate for spring and Easter: Once all that spring cleaning is done, I can’t wait to decorate; flowers everywhere, cute Easter decor, I love it!

  17. Easter egg hunt: I have such great memories of my Easter as a child, and I love that I get to do the Easter egg hunts for my niece and nephews. They always have such fun, plus I’m a big kid at heart and who doesn’t wanna hunt for chocolate treats?

  18. Afternoon Tea: If you want to have a fancy day, afternoon tea is the way to go. I always say it's like a posh picnic, and a nice cuppa is always a great way to relax.

Spring is nature’s way of saying let's party! So happy spring, everyone!
