Should There Be a Specific Minimum Amount Spent on Valentine's Day?

No, in my opinion, it depends on the couple. For example, if you're a couple for whom money is no object and you enjoy extravagant, luxury experiences with a "main character" vibe, then, of course, the cost will be much higher. However, if you’re more sentimental and budget-conscious, then the cost will naturally be lower.

That being said, whether the amount spent is high or low, the gesture itself can still be meaningful. I believe it’s more about the thought and intention behind the gift or experience rather than the amount spent.

Valentine's Ideas to Treat Your Loved One – Whether Free, Budget-Friendly, or Extravagant.

  1. Keep it classic with flowers, chocolates, and a cozy homemade dinner.

  2. How about something fun? Try crazy golf, Fairgame in London, a concert, or even a comedy show.

  3. Want to keep things simple yet timeless? You can’t go wrong with a movie night and popcorn.

  4. A more romantic and personal idea could be breakfast in bed or drawing a relaxing bath to set the mood.

  5. UK weather can be unpredictable, but if it's sunny and warm, you could have a picnic in the park, share a milkshake at a café, or take a walk along the beach with an ice cream.

  6. For a cozy night in, how about setting up a home movie marathon with your favorite TV shows, snacks, matching pyjamas, and a takeaway dinner?

  7. If you're a couple who loves exploring and days out, a trip to London would be great! You could:

    • Shop around Covent Garden or Camden Market

    • Visit the breathtaking Sky Garden

    • Enjoy a delicious brunch in Mayfair

    • Stroll through Kensington Gardens

    • Explore world-class museums

    • Take in the view from the London Eye

    • Or one of my personal favourite’s, taste-testing food and drinks at Borough Market

  1. West End Theatre Show, A perfect date idea for theatre buffs, as London's West End never fails to deliver incredible performances.

  2. Couples’ Spa Day; A great way to relax, unwind, and reconnect with your Valentine.

  3. Looking to go all out? Then a romantic getaway would be perfect! A great destination could be Paris—the city of love—offering good food, fine wine, sightseeing, and luxury shopping.
