Las Iguanas Restaurant Review
Another date night in London, Me and my boyfriend decided to taste the flavours of Latin American at Las Iguanas in waterloo.
There were so many yummy-looking dishes on the menu but I decides to try a few different Tapas’, and that was a great decision. Kicking it off with Tapas number one: Brazilian Beach Cheese - Halloumi slices, pan-fried & served with chilli jam & oregano. I love halloumi so I was very excited to try these. They were delicious and the chilli jam complemented it excellently. The cheese and chilli jam balanced each other out very nicely and left my taste buds doing a little Latin dance. The dishes were also well present and had great portion sizes too. I would score tapas number one 10/10.
Tapas number two: Mushroom Quesadilla - Tortilla with garlicky mushroom, chilli, thyme & cheese, folded, pan-toasted & served with roasted tomato salsa. Tortilla is a new favourite dish of mine and when I saw these on the menu I was very happy and they didn’t disappoint. The chilly, thyme, cheese, garlicky mushroom and salsa went down a treat. Las Iguanas does very well in creating a perfect portion size for their dishes and they always look very well present, I also like that las iguanas have little flags they stick in the food for vegetarians so dishes don’t get mixed up.
Now for the drinks, 2 for 1 Cocktails is one of the best captions to read so of course I had 4 cocktails, but I couldn’t help that it, it was 2 for 1 what was I meant to do to say ‘no’? That's crazy! And not the good kind of crazy haha, I had 2 very refreshing glasses of Strawberry Daiquiri and 2 very cold and creamy glasses of Pina colada and they were so good! My favourite was deftly the Pina colada, they were so sweet and creamy just writing about it makes me want one right now but it is like 11:20 in the morning whilst I’m writing this review so maybe another day and at a later time, although as many say it is 5 pm somewhere, jokes, of course, I’m still sipping down my herbal tea; trying to be healthy and what not, I just wish they could make herbal tea taste better it smells amazing but the taste is yuck!
Date night at las iguanas was a very enjoyable night out, the staff was friendly and the service was quick and I loved the tunes they had playing throughout the evening. I also like the theme at las iguanas the bright vibrant colours of the decor and there is always such a happy, positive atmosphere.
