Minimalist Christmas or Maximalist Magic: Which Are You?
When it comes to Christmas, there are two types of people; The minimalists who like a calm, simple, neutral look… and then there’s Me, full-on team Maximalist Magic.
I absolutely love everything about Christmas. The lights, the decorations, the family traditions, the food, the music, all of it. For me, Christmas is meant to be magical, warm, and bursting with festive cheer. My family’s house honestly looks like Santa’s grotto, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Over the years, we’ve somehow accumulated five Christmas trees (yes, five!) All different sizes and each with its own unique style and theme. From the traditional red-and-gold living room tree to the cosy, rustic kitchen one plus the snowflake-covered windows in every room, every corner of the house has its own bit of Christmas magic. Decorations fill every space, garlands, twinkling lights, festive ornaments, and little touches that make the house glow with Christmas spirit.
The Christmas music starts early, and once it’s on, it stays on. There’s something so joyful about hearing those classic songs playing while you’re decorating, baking, or wrapping gifts. It’s chaotic in the best possible way; Loud, bright, fun, and completely full of love.
And while it might sound a little over the top, I promise it’s all tasteful, pretty, and filled with warmth. That’s what Christmas is about for me, togetherness, laughter, nostalgia, and pure joy.
So yes, call me extra, but I’ll happily wear that badge with pride. When it comes to the festive season, I’m team Maximalist all the way because if Christmas isn’t magical, twinkly, and over the top is it really Christmas at all?
Now the real question is have I convinced you to come to the crazy festive side?
