My Top 15 Favourite Actresses

These are in no particular order, just a collection of my absolute favourite actresses who have inspired, entertained, and amazed me over the years. Each one brings something unique to the screen, whether it’s their humour, confidence, elegance, or emotional depth.

A true legend of stage and screen, Angela Lansbury captivated audiences with her grace and warmth in every role she played. From Murder, She Wrote to Beauty and the Beast, her timeless talent and effortless elegance made her one of the greatest and most important actresses of all time.

She also holds a very special place in my childhood. Murder, She Wrote was one of the shows my nanny and I loved most, we’d watch it together for hours, completely caught up in every mystery. Those moments are some of my dearest memories. After she passed away, I often found myself rewatching the episodes, feeling as though she was still right there beside me. Even now, as an adult, the show continues to bring me comfort and always makes me smile.

2. Jenna Ortega

Rising fast and redefining what it means to be a modern star, Jenna Ortega is fearless, witty, and effortlessly cool. Her role as Wednesday Addams is iconic, she manages to bring darkness, humour, and emotion together in a way that feels completely her own.

3. Melissa McCarthy

A comedy genius with a heart of gold, Melissa McCarthy can make me laugh until I cry, especially in Spy, Life of the Party, and The Boss. She brings such natural energy to every character, blending chaos and charm in a way that never fails to entertain.

4. Millie Bobby Brown

Millie Bobby Brown is an actress whose confidence and talent continue to impress me. Her performances in Enola Holmes 1 and 2 were brilliant, she brought so much wit, strength, and intelligence to the character.

Elegant, strong, and inspiring Gal Gadot embodies everything that makes a superhero feel real. As Wonder Woman, she brought heart and humanity to an iconic character, becoming a role model for so many fans around the world.

Miss Congeniality will always be one of my favourites, she brings such warmth, humour, and authenticity to her role. No matter the film, she always finds a way to make her characters feel relatable and real. My favourite Sandra Bullock movie will always be the classic Miss Congeniality 1 and 2, I loved everything about these movie and they will always be my favourite.

Cameron Diaz brings such energy and fun to every role. From The Mask and Charlie’s Angels to The Holiday, she’s the definition of effortless charm and her screen presence just makes everything brighter.

Anne Hathaway has a certain elegance that stands out in every film she’s in. From The Princess Diaries to The Devil Wears Prada, she always delivers beautifully emotional and genuine performances that feel completely natural comical and heartfelt.

Quirky, bold, and brilliantly unpredictable Helena Bonham Carter never plays it safe. Whether she’s the eccentric Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter or the weird and wonderful mother of Enola Holmes, she completely transforms into every character she plays. I’ve really loved watching her in this role, as she brings both power and comedy to the character while keeping that classic Helena flair.

A true icon of cinema; Julie Andrews is pure class, her voice, poise, and timeless charm are unmatched. From Mary Poppins and The Princess Diaries to her elegant narration in Bridgerton, she continues to captivate audiences and prove why she’s one of the most beloved voices in entertainment.

Emma Thompson is smart, naturally beautiful and full of heart. She brings depth to every performance, from Love Actually to Sense and Sensibility and my favourite Nanny McPhee. She’s a true powerhouse of British talent.

12. Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson is a modern Hollywood icon with incredible strength and charisma. Her role as Black Widow in the Marvel universe stands out the most for me, she brings courage, comedy and emotional power to a character that could have easily been one-dimensional in anyone else’s hands. She’s tough but still human, and that’s what makes her so compelling.

13. Catherine Zeta-Jones

Catherine Zeta-Jones is pure sophistication. Her performance in The Mask of Zorro is unforgettable, fiery, confident, and full of energy. She’s the perfect balance of strength and grace. I’ve also really loved watching her in the Wednesday series, where she plays the role of Morticia beautifully, elegant, mysterious, and completely captivating, I honestly don’t think anyone could have played Morticia Addams better.

14. Kat Graham

Kat Graham is multi-talented actor, singer, and all-around creative force. Most people know her as Bonnie from The Vampire Diaries, but she’s also starred in a few of my favourite Christmas films on Netflix She brings warmth, emotion, and a certain sparkle to every performance, making her characters instantly likeable.

15. Nicola Coughlan

Nicola Coughlan has such a refreshing presence. From Derry Girls to Bridgerton, she brings comedy, wit, and pure enjoyment to her roles. She’s proof that genuine talent and personality will always shine through and she’s only just getting started.
