New Zizzi Staters On The Menu

Yes, I know I already did a Zizzi review, but when new dishes are on the menu how could I not talk about it? Italian food is the tastiest food in the world, in my opinion; the sauces, the cheese, it's just too good and speaking of too good, let's get chatting about the new dishes I have tried.

Whilst on another London trip, I went to have dinner at the same Zizzi’s I went to before and I was very excited to see new dishes on the menu. I decided to try two new starter dishes. The first was Goat’s Cheese & Caramelised Onion Arancini; Breadcrumbed risotto rice balls stuffed with goat's cheese and caramelised onions, and red pepper dip. What a treat it was. I always get this mouth-watering feeling when eating tasty Italian food, and this was very tasty indeed. The combination of the goat's cheese and caramelised onions worked lovely together. They complimented each other and paired very nicely with the red pepper dip. The potion size was just enough, as well as a perfect little taste of Italian in a bowl, My only negative thing to say was the presentation was fairly basic, there wasn’t anything they used to make it stand out look wise, I would love to see the dishes presentation look a little more fun and creative, Italian food is said to be cooked with passion and tastes wise I could tell but looks I think could do with a little more passion, 100% RECOMMEND TRYING!
The atmosphere at the restaurant was a little less intimate than last time, as it was extremely busy and loud, we were seated at a very small table extremely close to other people having dinner, which for me was a little off-putting trying to talk to my boyfriend when, unintentionally, all I could hear was other people's conversations and we were sitting so close that we might as well have been sitting at the same table. I do sometimes feel that some restaurants forget about what the people's experience dining out should be, not how many tables you can squeeze in. The location was just as beautiful as last time but I could not look at the beautiful views, as unfortunately, this time round as my back was facing them. I feel that positioning the tables so people seated at window tables can have the option to look out and take in the views whilst eating may make a more positive dining experience.

On to the second new starter, Fonduta Formaggi; A melting pot of cheese served with our Little Soul pieces of bread to dip. Any real food lover will agree that melted cheeses and bread are one of the best combinations ever! It's such a quick and simple dish but always leaves you wanting more. However, I do feel that this dish didn’t quite meet my expectations. The melted cheese wasn’t as full of flavour as I was hoping and did leave an odd aftertaste in my mouth from time to time. The bread on the other hand was lovely and soft, Unfortunately, this didn’t make my taste buds tingle like Italian food usually does.
The customer service started a little rocky when entering, as the hostess didn’t quite reach the standards of a restaurant hostess, but once we were seated we were greeted by a lovely, friendly waitress, who improved my dining at Zizz’s experience. I have done many customer service jobs in the past and know just how hard it can be and even though it was a busy night, the waitress we had did an excellent job, smiling nonstop with a polite, friendly attitude and serving the food with reasonable timing.
I would 100% recommend the first starter I had, as It was my favourite out of the two. I do feel that atmosphere wise my first time going to Zizz’s was nicer, but this time round was still a nice evening with adequate food, Good customer service and great company.
