Our Unity Is Our Strength & Diversity Is Our Power
Colour why does it matter? Sexuality why does it matter? Religious beliefs why does it matter? Why is it how many judges and questions? Why do people think it's acceptable? … It’s not!
Colours to me bring purpose, vision, and expression but for many years it’s been used as a way to punish, discriminate, label and many say “it's just life” but it's not its old fashion thinking that we need to step away from as no colour should be the reason to judge… you are only human, yes you will judge, yes but judge by the person's personality and attitudes not the colour of their skin. I don’t think it matters whether you are white, black, or whoever you are it doesn’t matter, I have never thought colour defines who you are as a person and it shouldn’t what should define you is what sort of person you choose to be. I'm sick of labels, name calling abusive behaviour towards people “Be the change you wanna see in people” is one of the most powerful combinations of words ever to be said; you want a better world, a safer, happier, more kind place for your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, siblings, cousins, mothers, fathers, for the ones you love to grow up in, then start showing, start being the change!
You're straight? Gay? Lesbian? Bisexual? Trans? Ok cool, you have the right to be you, whoever you choose to be the way I see it is as long as you're not hurting anyone what does it matter? It’s no big deal you can’t control who you have feelings and attraction for and to be honest you shouldn’t have to hide that. Love comes in many different forms, but at the end of the day, love is love whether you love men, women or both. Whether you're a man that wants to be a woman or a woman that wants to be a man or you identified as neither honestly every person has the right to be their true selves. And people should be embracing each other's unique lifestyles, and their positive ways; love is love and everyone should be accepted to love who they want to.“There is no sexuality that is greater or lesser than another”.
Religion has been around for many years and no I am not a religious person but I do have a belief, my belief is everyone has the right to believe in something whether its God or that praying works, that faith is more than a word, that there is someone higher up to talk to. The loyalty and tradition people stand by, it's a way of life, it's a different lifestyle but it is still a lifestyle that people should have the right to choose if they want it or not. Tell me why shouldn’t people have the right to believe? As I’ve said before If no one is getting hurt why does it matter?
I've grown up in a country full of diversity, a place filled with all types of people; a country full of people with mixed cultures, religions, sexualities and races, a country with different colours, smells, tastes, styles, opinions and even though we have made progress since back in the day I feel there is still more to be done.
Hi, my name is Alex I am a white, straight, non-religious female but I have grown up with people in my life with different sexuality, races, and religious and non-religious beliefs. I am not perfect personally I say there is no such thing as perfect and yes I judge but like I said I judge on their personality and attitudes, not the colour of their skin, not their sexuality, not their religious beliefs, I don’t judge for who they were born as I judge on if they have a rude, mean and nasty personality.
Just ask yourself how is it fair for someone to be made to feel scared of who they are cause others have made them feel like that? What gives someone else the right to scare someone, make them feel less, and make them feel ashamed of who they are? No one has the right to belittle, discriminate or cause destruction; People should be making a difference we should be shining light on these things that matter.
“Race, Gender, Religion, Sexuality we are all people and that's it”
