There is just something about summer that makes everything feel a little bit lighter, happier and more exciting. Longer evenings, sunny days, iced drinks, cute days out and making memories that you will probably still be talking about years later. So, I thought it would be fun to put together a little summer 2026 bucket list full of things I thought you would love to do.
Some are simple, some are a bit more of a plan, but all of them feel like the perfect way to make the most of summer.
Adventures and Days Out
First on the list would definitely be to have a proper beach day. Nothing too fancy, just a day by the sea, eating snacks, walking along the sand and catching some sunshine.
Another to add to the list watching the sunset somewhere beautiful, because there is nothing better than golden hour in the summer.
Glamping should also be high on the list; A cosy little weekend away, with pretty views, a hot tub and marshmallows by the fire, sounds perfect.
How about a little day out activity such as visiting a lake, have a picnic or go strawberry picking.
My absolute favourite is wandering around a botanical garden or even visit a lavender field because I just know the beauty will be gorgeous.
Also how about a fun filled evening, like a fairground or night market, an outdoor cinema night, a rooftop bar or a cute summer beer garden.
For a more active personality I would suggest paddle boarding or kayaking a refreshingly cool and fun idea.
The most simple but effective choice; A countryside walk at golden hour the perfect summer moment.
Relax and Self Care
Now not every summer plan needs to be busy. Some of the best days are the slow ones; Such as reading a book outside in the sun or having a proper no-phone relaxation day, or even better yet enjoying a slow morning with breakfast outside.
It’s a unwritten rule to make homemade iced coffees or in my case iced chai because they are a must do. I feel like once the sun comes out, an iced chai just tastes ten times better.
Food and Drink
Summer food is always the best. Non-stop BBQ’s with friends and family, homemade cocktails or mocktails topped with an ice lolly or two.
Another favourite is trying a new fancy brunch spot.
Also a British summer traditions chips from the chippy at the beach.
An ice cream taste test also sounds like such a fun idea. Pick a few different flavours, rank them and make it a whole little event.
Creative
The artistic creativeness in me would always recommend to create a summer scrapbook or photo album. I always take photos so it would be nice to actually turn them into something I can look back on.
I also think it could be cool to start a mini summer journal to highlight your memories, funny moments, summer thoughts and more.
Trying something new like a new hobby or DIY project will get them creative juices flowing.
Hosting a games night should definitely be on the list too, because you can’t beat a chilled evening with good people, snacks and a bit of friendly competition.
And obviously, dancing in the kitchen to loud music has to make the list. Sometimes those are the best memories.
Couple Goals
For couple plans, I would say keep it cute and simple, mine and Elliotts personal favourites include a cosy campfire night, building LEGO together, a sunset date or eve a themed movie marathon night. All sound perfect right?
I also think everyone should take more polaroid-style photos together creating a nostalgic vibe. Not everything has to be perfectly posed or planned. Sometimes the blurry, silly little photos end up being the ones you love the most.
The summer, should be about making memories, enjoying the little things and saying yes to more fun plans. It does not have to be expensive or over the top. Sometimes the best summer days are the simple ones.
Here’s to summer 2026, sunny days, cute plans and making the most of every little moment.
